Why most service business websites bring in nothing
Most service business websites describe what the business does and stop there. They look fine, but the right people never find them, and the few who do can't tell which service they need.
The causes are nearly always the same:
- One page for everything. A single services page can't rank for six different services. Each service needs its own page, its own keyword and its own call to action.
- A slow site. Too many plugins loading scripts on every page, images uploaded at full camera resolution, and a page builder shipping CSS for elements you never use. Cheap shared hosting makes all three worse.
- A theme with your logo on it. A marketplace theme with the demo content swapped out looks like everyone else's site and was never planned around the work you want.
- Enquiries with no routing. Every message lands in one inbox with no tagging, no follow-up and no way to tell a good lead from a bad one.
- A site only the agency can edit. If changing your phone number needs a developer, that is a business model, not a technical necessity.
What every AI WordPress website includes
Every project covers these six areas. None of them is an upsell added later.
- Custom design. Built around your brand, your colours and your photography. You approve the design before any of it is built.
- Every page built. Home, about, services, team, contact, blog, legal pages and anything else your business needs, populated with your real content, not placeholder text.
- Mobile first. Designed for phones first, because that is where most of your visitors are, then tested on real devices and browsers rather than one desktop window.
- Speed and Core Web Vitals. A small plugin set, images converted and sized at build time, caching set up properly, and performance measured before launch rather than patched afterwards.
- Search and AI visibility. On-page SEO, schema markup, clean headings, an XML sitemap and Search Console setup, with content structured so Google and AI answer engines can both read it.
- Security, backups and training. SSL, hardened login, automatic backups and a security plugin that is configured, not just installed. Then documentation and a live session so you can run the site yourself.
The same build can be a company site with team profiles, a professional services site with a page per practice area and client intake, a booking site with deposits and reminders, a membership or course site, a multilingual site with proper hreflang, or a landing page connected to your CRM.
If you mainly sell products and want less to maintain, AI Shopify store development is often the better fit. I'll tell you honestly which one suits you.
Packages and pricing
Fixed price, quoted before anything is built. You approve scope, timeline and cost in writing, then I build to it. No hourly billing and no mid-project scope changes.
| Package | Best for | Price | Timeline | What is included |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | New business, first website | From $999 | 1 week | Up to 4 pages, custom mobile-first design, contact forms with email routing, blog setup, on-page SEO and basic schema, speed and security pass, training and documentation |
| Complete | Established firm that needs enquiries | From $2,200 | 2 weeks | Up to 12 pages, a dedicated page per service, local SEO and LocalBusiness schema, CRM intake with tagging and routing, booking or enquiry automation, Core Web Vitals pass and plugin audit, GA4 and Search Console set up, 30 days of post-launch care |
| Advanced | Ecommerce, membership or multilingual | From $4,500 | 2 to 3 weeks | 20 pages, WooCommerce, membership or courses, multilingual with hreflang, custom post types and templates, an AI assistant trained on your content, third-party and ERP integrations, ongoing optimisation available |
What you pay outside this: hosting, roughly $10 to $40 a month depending on traffic, plus your domain and any premium plugin licences your build needs. All of it is quoted in the proposal before you commit. I recommend a host and you buy it in your own name, not through me and not resold at a markup.
How the project runs
- Discovery. Not "what pages do you want" but "what work do you want more of". We start from the jobs you want in your calendar and work backwards to the site that brings them.
- Architecture. Sitemap, page structure and the keyword for each page, approved in writing before any design begins.
- Design. A full design concept for your key pages. You review and revise until it is right, before development starts.
- Development. A clean, minimal-plugin build with your real content, speed measured as it goes, and each feature tested as it lands.
- Launch and training. Migration, redirects, SSL and analytics, then documentation, recorded walkthroughs and a live session with whoever looks after the site.
An Essential site takes about a week and a Complete build about two. What slows a project down is rarely the build. It is how quickly content and approvals come back.
Recent WordPress builds
Recent WordPress builds include:
- San Diego Law Firm: a personal injury firm with a page each for auto accident, wrongful death and sexual harassment cases.
- Grill Clean Up: a website for a home services business.
I build websites for law firms that need a page per practice area and client intake, and websites for home services businesses that need local search and booking built in.
Why work with Usama
- You work with me directly. I've been building since 2014, with 1,400+ projects shipped for clients in 40+ countries, and I've worked full time on AI automation since 2023. I'm also featured on Fiverr Pro.
- Fixed price in writing. Scope, timeline and cost are agreed before work starts, so the number in the proposal is the number you pay.
- No lock-in. Your domain, hosting and accounts stay in your name. Another developer can take over at any time.
- Honest about rankings. The build gives you everything a developer controls: a page per service, clean headings, schema, internal links, fast Core Web Vitals and local signals. Nobody can honestly guarantee position one. For ongoing ranking work after launch, see AI SEO services.
The first step is a free 30-minute call. Tell me what your business does and what you need the site to achieve, and I'll tell you what it would take and roughly what it costs.
